Johns Hopkins University Center For Talented Youth is holding their annual Academic Talent Search. Eligible 7th and 8th grade students should visit www.cty.jhu.edu to apply. To qualify for the Talent Search, a student must have scored in the 95th percentile or higher in a reasoning section of a nationally-normed test. Students with state test results categorized at the highest levels of performance (such as advanced, distinguished, exceeds, honors) are also eligible to participate. For questions about who may apply or for an application/brochure stop by the guidance office and speak with Ms. Daily.
Scholarships for Academic Excellence
According to New York State Department of Education guidelines: an average of regents exam scores on the ELA (weight 3), Math B (weight 3), Global (weight 1), US History (weight 1), Earth Science (weight 1) and Living Environment (weight 1) were used to nominate seniors for the Scholarships for Academic Excellence through the New York State Department of Education.
Seniors will be notified at the end of the school year if they were awarded these scholarships.
