Admissions and Tuition Rates

Open House

Prospective students and their families may have the opportunity to inspect the facilities, meet administrators, faculty members and current students to learn about the Bishop Grimes program by attending an OPEN HOUSE at school. Bishop Grimes Open House  is held twice a year--once in the fall and once in the winter. Open house dates for the 2014/2015 school year will be  November 22nd, 11:30 AM  - 1:30 PM and February 4th, 6:30 - 8:00 PM.  

Entrance/Scholarship Exams

 All applicants for grades 7 and 9 must take an Entrance Exam. The Exam runs from 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 am. The two fall exams each year will be for possible scholarship awards.  Each student needs two (2) sharpened, #2 lead pencils and must bring a calculator to use. The Exam fee is $15.00. Please use the back entrance of the school for the exam.

Students can register for this Exam by calling Admissions at (315) 314-7157.

Affiliated Rates The affiliated rate applies to families that are registered members of their parish. All affiliations are verified with the Pastor of the church designated on the enrollment form.

There is a $50.00 fee due at the time of registration. This fee is non-refundable after June 1st.

SMART Tuition 

Letter from the Catholic School Office

Smart Tuition forms must be filled out for each student even if you not applying for financial assistance. Parents, please fill out and submit with the application or re-application form.  SMART Applications can be completed online  or use a paper registration form (click here to download).  Forms are also available at all Catholic Schools and at the Catholic School Office. To download instructions click here.

Tuition Assistance

Tuition Assistance Program (TAP): This is Diocesan tuition assistance for Catholic School Education funded by the Hope Appeal. It is based on financial need.  SMART Applications can be completed online or use a paper  registration form (click here to download). Forms are also available at all Catholic Schools and at the Catholic School Office. Forms must be completed for financial aid consideration and submitted by March 16th for the next school year. Additional Scholarships and Tuition Assistance programs are available from each school. There is assistance available based on financial need and scholastic achievement. Please contact Bishop Grimes at 315-437-0356 for further information and assistance.

Health Requirements for Newly Accepted Students

All accepted students are required to have the following documents on file in the health office prior to starting school. These documents are reviewed by the school nurse to establish that all NYS immunization requirements are   met and that your child’s health issues are understood so that pertinent information can be disseminated to the appropriate school personnel.  At BGP, we make every effort to see that your child’s school health needs are addressed to ensure a healthy and positive school experience.

  • An Official Immunization Record (parent should obtain from health care provider)
    • This official document is generated by your child’s health care provider (HCP). Immunization records written in a foreign language must be officially translated and legible.
  • A Health Appraisal ( to be completed by your child’s HCP)
    • For enrollment purposes, the physical exam can be dated no earlier than September of the school year just completed. Once school begins a health appraisal is required for the current school year.
    • Foreign students must also have a physical examination completed by our school physician or a private NYS physician by November 1st.
  • A Health History (to be completed by parent)
  • Medication Order/Authorization (to be completed by HCP and parent)
    • This is left to parental discretion, but is required if your child will be taking prescription or over the counter medication during the school day or has been prescribed emergency use medications. (i.e. Epi Pen, benedryl, inhaler, glucagon)
  • Dental Health Certificate (to be completed by your child’s dentist and parent)
    • This is optional but recommended.
